Well, well, well… guess what BBQ spot just got crowned the best in Tennessee? It’s not in Memphis… It’s actually Peg Leg Porker in Nashville.
Yep, according to a new report from LoveFood.com, Peg Leg Porker is officially smokin’ the competition.
Look, Memphis, we love you… we really do. But it turns out the best BBQ in the state isn’t coming from Beale Street. It’s coming from a little spot in The Gulch with a killer smoker and a whole lot of flavor.
Here’s what the results from LoveFood.com have to say:
The barbecuing at award-winning restaurant Peg Leg Porker is done by Carey Bringle, a legendary pitmaster with 30 years’ experience under his belt – and he’s so good at his job that he’s been asked to cook at The James Beard House twice. Top choices include dry-rubbed ribs, pulled pork, and Memphis sushi (a platter of kielbasa sausage, cheese, crackers, and white barbecue sauce). As for the sides, the creamy, crunchy coleslaw, mac ’n’ cheese, French fries, and barbecue beans are all highly recommended.
