42-Year-Old Message In A Bottle Washes Up On Remote Island

While strolling Sable Island National Park Reserve, an archaeology technician from Potlotek First Nation stumbled upon an unusual discovery – a message in a bottle washed ashore. The four-decade-old letter, dated January 14, 1983, originated from a resupply ship near the crescent-shaped Canadian island. In faded writing, the note vaguely referenced the crew of a vessel called the Wimpey Sea Hunter. Accompanying the letter was a 1974 Canadian $2 bill, featuring a portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth.
