A study from Canada found that a near-death experience could change your worldview, especially when it comes to your job. After a brush with mortality, those observed tended to move away from pursuing money and status, and sought more authentic, meaningful work and relationships. Researchers interviewed 14 working adults who had experienced a near-death experience, and discovered six major themes: Insights; personal transformations; reprioritization of work; job changes; motivation; and changed relationships. “Before the near-death experience it was about boats and big houses and Range Rovers and trips and shopping. That doesn’t really matter anymore,” one participant said. (Study Finds)
