In a time where it seems so many bands are more interested in the power of a recording over a live rock show, it’s always refreshing to me to see a band still take both equally as serious. I’ve been a massive fan of The Criticals for a long time now and when I finally caught them live last year my first thought was FINALLY a band that sounds even better live then on recordings. Not to say I don’t love their recordings because I absolutely do, but if you wanna see a band that has hands down one of the best live shows you’ll ever see, look no further then Nashville’s very own The Criticals. I’ve had them on my show many times and I always thought to myself “these guys have some really dedicated die hard fans”, and the second I saw them live at The OG Basement, I knew exactly why. The Criticals have this way of taking the exact sound you hear on their recordings and throwing it directly into your face with an intense rush of exactly what rock n roll should be. I was stoked when I saw they not only did an AudioTree session, but they also released the live version of one of their classics “Talk Now”, my stoked level reached a Critical level, IF you will.
Now do yourself a favor and go turn this one up NOW.
