Violet Moons dropped “False Prophet” on Friday and already I have worn my vinyl copy out. I’m kidding of course but when it does come out on vinyl I imagine I’ll need to purchase a back up copy just in case.
I became a huge fan of this band when they first started putting out music in 2020. There’s something so fresh and real about this band and I love the way they make music on their own terms. You never know what you’re going to get with a new Violet Moons song but you know one thing is for sure, and that is you’ll know exactly who it is the second you hear it. In a time where it seems harder and harder to be original and honest with your music, few do it better than this band.
“False Prophet” has a haunting shoegaze vibe that is easy to get lost in. The dark haunting vocals, with fuzz guitar, tambourine smacks, and the lyrics take you to a place all it’s own. The place where two Violet Moons light up the darkness. Now do yourself a favor and turn this one up NOW.
