Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix, FFDP’s Chris Kael celebrate sobriety milestones

This week, Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix marked his eighth year of sobriety. During their current tour through Europe, Shaddix and his band mates stopped by a bar and ordered a round of “mocktails” — alcohol-free cocktails — to celebrate the occasion.

“[Eight] years ago, @jacobyshaddix made a decision that likely is the reason he is still living,” Shaddix wrote in a Facebook post along with a video of the celebration. “Here is to 8 years of sobriety and a lifetime more. We love you Coby.”

Meanwhile, Five Finger Death Punch bassist Chris Kael passed two years of sobriety earlier this month.

“I post this not as a pat on the back for myself,” Kael wrote in an Instagram post. “Rather, this is for you. To those who have less time than my two years — keep putting one foot in front of the other. We share the same path.”

“To those of you who have more sobriety time than I do — thank you for showing me the rewards that come with sobriety,” he continued. “We share the same path. And, for those of you who may be thinking of getting sober — we ALL start with one day. No better day than today to start with yours. There’s plenty more room on this path to share.”

Shaddix and Kael will be sharing the road when Five Finger Death Punch launches their U.S. headlining tour in April, with support from the Roach, I Prevail and Ice Nine Kills.
