Alice In Chains’ album Dirt is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of its release on September 29th, 1992.
Recently, on Friday, August 5th, the band received over a dozen new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America, including a five-times platinum certification for the album.
Consequence says,
With digital and streaming numbers now a major factor in certification, most of the releases reached new milestones for the first time in many years, if not decades. Dirt’s certification for 5 million units moved in the US alone came 22 years after it was certified four-times platinum in 2000.
Along with Dirt going five-times platinum, each of the album’s singles all received new certifications in the latest round of awards: “Would?” (gold, platinum, and double-platinum); “Them Bones” (gold and platinum); “Rooster” (gold, platinum, and double-platinum); and “Down in a Hole” (gold and platinum).
