Kyle Pavone/Vince PavoneThe Kyle Pavone Foundation has announced the launch of a scholarship in memory of the late We Came as Romans vocalist.
The fund, dubbed the Kyle Cares Scholarship, will provide up to $2,000 to individual musicians in need of assistance amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In honor of our son Kyle Pavone, we wanted to do something that would help musicians during this time of great need,” say Pavone’s parents, Vince and Caroline Pavone.
“Even under normal circumstances, the life of a musician can be a lot to handle, and the current situation we’re living in only amplifies that struggle,” the Pavones add. “We thought the best thing we could do, what Kyle would want us to do, is to help musicians who are facing difficult times because of circumstances that are beyond their control.”
Pavone, who’d provided vocals in We Came as Romans starting in 2008, died August 2018 at age 28 of an accidental overdose. Following his passing, his family started the Kyle Pavone Foundation in an effort to “provide education, awareness, and compassion to those suffering from addiction, and their families.”
