Bob Allen Deal was born with ankylosing spondylitis, a rare spinal disease that causes discs to fuse together and the torso to slump forward, causing immense pain.
Oh, did I mention that Bob Deal is Mick Mars of Motley Crue? Yep, THAT Mick Mars! The legend that flooded your mind with memories of where you were the first time you heard classics like, “Live Wire, “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Dr. Feelgood.”
When Crue retired in 2015, a spoke in that wheel of reasons, was that Mars, now in his 70’s, was beginning to further decline in the disease.
Then came “The Dirt” bio-flick — an uber-successful movie that gave the Crue its 9th life and sent them back on the road, headlining “The Stadium Tour,” along with Def Leppard and Poison.
Mars went on the road, even with his declining health, but the rumor (and that’s all it is at this point — a rumor) is that he’s making the choice to step aside and finally retire, albiet, mid-tour.
The other half to the rumor (and that’s all it is at this point — a rumor) is that guitar virtuoso, John 5, will be stepping into guitar duties to finish the Crue’s remaining contracted tour dates.
Is it possible??…And will Crue die-hards accept him??
