Bruce Springsteen fans got a very expensive surprise when they tied buying tickets to his upcoming shows… THANKS, TICKETMASTER!
Tickets for some dates on next year’s Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band tour went on sale yesterday, and fans noticed that the prices were completely out of control.
We’re not talking front row, or even VIP. Tickets for a mid-floor seat in Tampa were going for $4,400. In Boston, floor seats were $5,000!!
Note, these were not tickets that were scalped and resold at a higher price. Because of Ticketmaster’s new “dynamic pricing” program. It allows ticket prices to fluctuate based on supply and demand…so that they can rise to the level a reseller would get for them. The theory is that this freezes the scalper out, and the extra money goes directly to the artist and promoter.
That’s their claim, anyway…
But, still…$5,000 for tickets!?! One Tweet below even shows a, $8,000 listing.
