Chester Bennington‘s ex-wife, Samantha, has spoken out against the organization and tone of the late Linkin Park frontman’s funeral. In a Facebook post, she criticized the memorial for focusing too much on his career as a musician at the expense of his family.
“It was a disgusting delusional display on all people who spoke at the funeral & their characters,” she wrote. “Never mentioning a man who grew up from a little boy and loved many things, becoming a rock star was just one thing!”
Attendees at the private funeral received a concert-styled program, along with backstage pass-type lanyards and wristbands.
“We’re [sic] were photos of him?” Samantha wrote. “Why did the program look like a cheap happy hour menu?! I’m so disgusted on so many levels!”
Samantha also claimed that and neither she nor the son she had with Chester, Draven, were allowed the opportunity to speak at the funeral, and that there was only one photo of Draven displayed at the service.
Bennington had a total of six children in his life. He died by suicide on July 20 at age 41.
