I was saddened yesterday to hear of the passing of Glen Campbell. And because it’s Nashville, all the media here focuses on his country side. Well Glen was a rocker as well. You have no idea how many songs you have heard Glen on. Not as a vocalist, but as a session musician. He was part of the Wrecking Crew, the L.A. studio cats that played on everyone’s records. Glen was part of recordings playing on massive hits from Ricky Nelson (Yes, Gunner and Matthew’s dad) Nat King Cole, The Monkees, Frank Sinatra and many more. Not only that, but He was a member of the Beach Boys. Toured with them for about a year. Glen was a great songwriter and musician and loved all types of music, as can be witnessed in this cover of Foo’s “Times Like These.”
