As Record Store Day quickly approaches, Metallica are fleshing out their plans to celebrate all things vinyl on the day. The guys will perform at an actual record store – Rasputin Music in Berkeley, California – on Record Store Day 2016, which falls on April 16.
“Getting loud, noisy and sweaty at Rasputin’s on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley transports Metallica right back to the core of its Bay Area beginnings,” drummer Lars Ulrich said in a statement. “We can’t wait to celebrate Record Store Day while shaking up the East Bay old-school style.”
Metallica are the official ambassador of Record Store Day 2016. The guys will also unleash a live CD, titled “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica! – Live at Le Bataclan. Paris, France – June 11th, 2003” on Record Store Day. Other artists slated to release Record Store Day exclusives include Linkin Park, Disturbed, Bring Me the Horizon and Halestorm, among others.
