Wow. The sound of those strings at the beginning was not what I was expecting, but I think I like it! This is a taste of his upcoming fourth solo album. It’s called Higher Truth, and we get it September 18th!
On August 11th, he was on Apple Music’s Beat One service and stated,
“I think I finally kind of steered myself in a direction as a solo artist, where over the course of several years it has kind of started to have an identity. My goal, initially, with Euphoria Morning, which was my first solo record, was it can be anything as long as it isn’t Soundgarden. Even Audioslave, one of the issues, why I wouldn’t play guitar, was because I felt like if I write a guitar riff, and I’m singing, it’s going to sound a little like Soundgarden, and I don’t want that. So I guess it was about four or five years ago, I just started doing kind of a one man show acoustic touring thing.”
This guy’s bringing his solo show to the Ryman on October 27th! Press your luck at free tickets here.
