Slipknot are jumping on the nostalgia gravy train this year by reissuing their classic album "IOWA" in a 3-disc package that will include a DVD.
Amongst the seemingly endless sea of reissues and special editions these past few years, you will soon find a 10th anniversary edition of Slipknot's sophomore album — 'Iowa'.
The band has just announced the release will include the original album, previously unreleased audio from their 2002 DVD 'Disasterpieces', and an hour long Clown directed-film about the creation of 'Iowa' titled 'Goat'.

Despite being on the road for the band's farewell world tour, Judas Priest will have a new album ready in 2012, according to lead throat Rob Halford.
In a new interview with Billboard.com, Halford says that he and guitarist Glenn Tipton "began writing new music early on this year, before we went out on the road. We have about 12 or 14 tracks completely mapped out, four of which have been recorded and mixed and are ready to go… so the good news is that there will be a brand new Priest record next year."
Halford adds that the group is leaving some room for new guitarist Richie Faulkner, who replaced the retired K.K. Downing for the current Epitaph World Tour, "to join in and make contributions as well." But he's confident that won't change the overall tenor of the album.

According to TMZ.com, former WARRANT singer Jani Lane was found dead earlier this evening (Thursday, August 11) at a Los Angeles-area hotel. He was 47 years old.
Lane's body was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, California. So far, no official cause of death has been released.
On July 23, Lane took part in a taping of an upcoming episode of the "That Metal Show" alongside Michael Sweet (STRYPER) and Taime Downe (FASTER PUSSYCAT) (see photos below). The program featuring Lane is scheduled to air on October 1 on VH1 Classic.

Breaking Benjamin singer Benjamin Burnley allegedly FIRED two of his long-term bandmates by email in a bitter row over a new recording of one of the band's hit-songs.
The alternative rockers have been torn apart by the feud which was detailed in the Citizen's Voice of Wilkes-Barre which is the band's home town. It quotes court documents which claim the row came to a head in May when Burnley gave guitarist Aaron Fincke and bassist Mark Klepaski their marching orders via email.
According to the Citizen's Voice, Burnley has accused Fincke and Klepaski of making unilateral and unauthorised decisions on behalf of the band – and specifically allowing 'Blow Me Away' to be remixed and re-recorded without his consent. It is alleged that Fincke and Klepaski approved the revised version of the song, for use on a greatest hits package, after their record company offered a $100,000 payment. But Burnley insists that neither Fincke or Klepaski or their representatives informed him, the band's lawyer or management that any offer was even made.
