“Please Be Kind And Rewind” used to be a phrase that everyone knew, and I’m sure if you went through some of your parents stuff, you might even find a their old membership card. Blockbuster used to have over 9000 locations all over the country, but as the internet and streaming services and on demand grew to popularity, the chain has gone the way of the Dodo bird. Alaska’s last two locations of the video chain are closing their doors for good this weekend. That leaves only one left in the entire country. Bend, Oregon. Even John Oliver tried to save one of the stores by sending Russell Crowe’s jock strap that he wore during the filming of “Gladiator,” and it even helped garner some customers for one of the stores in AK, but alas…it just wasn’t enough to save it.
