Blink-182 recently had to postpone dates on their Las Vegas residency due to drummer Travis Barker’s medical issues. Now, the guys have also had to cancel an unannounced, surprise appearance set to take place at the 2018 Vans Warped Tour.
The news came in a unique way: through some comments on Instagram. Responding in the comments section of their official Instagram page, the festival explained that “Blink was going to play but Travis is having medical issues with blood clots in his arm.”
The comment added, “His health is the most important thing right now.”
This summer’s Vans Warped Tour will mark the touring festival’s final North American tour. The festival is currently underway, with bands including Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, Beartooth, All Time Low, Underoath, Taking Back Sunday and Motionless in White on the 2018 roster.
For now, Barker and the guys of Blink-182 are taking it easy. The latest update from Blink-182, which is dated back on June 19, explains that the drummer “will be prevented from playing until the beginning of July when everything will be reevaluated.” It concludes, “Thank you for your continued support and well wishes.”
So far, the next show on Blink-182’s roster is a headlining appearance at Chicago’s Riot Fest in September. Hopefully Barker will be healed up by then. Meanwhile this year’s Vans Warped Tour hits The Fairgrounds Nashville on July 10th.
