It’s no secret that Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food ice cream has always been a favorite from the Vermont-based ice cream brand, even two decades after its unveiling. Now, Ben & Jerry’s have unleashed a new Phish-derived flavor of ice cream to compliment their longstanding Phish Food chocolate-meets-marshmallow variety.
Ben & Jerry’s new flavor is named It’s Ice…Cream, a take on the popular Phish song “It’s Ice.” The flavor is “caramel malt ice cream with almond toffee pieces, fudge fish and a caramel swirl,” according to Ben & Jerry’s, and was almost picked as a flavor back in 1997, when the company was first putting together what would become their Phish Food flavor.
The pint features a special design created by Phish poster artist Jim Pollock. It swaps out Ben & Jerry’s standard blue skies for a hand-drawn design showing a fish dressed like a milkman standing on an iceberg. Pollock also created an already sold out print for Ben & Jerry’s. If you snagged one, feel good knowing all of the proceeds from the print, as well as the pint will go directly to Phish’s WaterWheel Foundation, benefitting causes like clean water, land conservation, and urban gardening.
The most devoted Phish fans may want to get their hands on the special It’s Ice… Cream Gift Pack, which boasts a pint of It’s Ice…Cream, the poster signed by Pollock, a pint container if It’s Ice…Cream in a display case, a special patch, an enamel pin set, a Ben & Jerry’s spoon and even a USB drive with tracks from Phish’s March 18, 1997 show to kick off Phish Food.
