The headline alone gave me chill bumps.
Maybe you did not know, Bad Wolves asked Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries to lend her vocals on their cover of “Zombie.” As you can tell in the voicemail, she was clearly a fan of the cover, and was scheduled to sing on the track on January 15th. Unfortunately, she passed away later that very same day.
TMZ got a hold of the voicemail of her calling the song “f***ing awesome.” The voicemail was left for the band’s label executive.
According to ABC Radio,
The voicemail was left for Dan Waite, an executive at Bad Wolves’ label Eleven Seven Records and a longtime friend of O’Riordan’s, on January 15 at 1:12 a.m., informing him that she’d arrived in London. She then shared her thoughts about the Bad Wolves version of “Zombie.”
I can imagine this song hits the band hard every time they sing it. Since Bad Wolves released the song, they’ve been donating the proceeds to Dolores’ children. Read more of the story from ABC Radio HERE.
