We just announced today that STP is coming downstairs for a Buzz Session in May! I’m pretty stoked for it, so I learned Plush over the weekend, and to get the feel of playing on the den stage, I brought my guitar with me to work. (Doesn’t everybody?!?!)
I would probably be struggling with this song had I not been taking lessons from Musician’s Institute Guitar Craft Academy. I’ve built up some strength in the past five months since I’ve been taking lessons, and I can already tell I’m getting better!
It doesn’t matter the skill level you’re at with guitar or bass… You could be a total beginner, or if you already know some, you can take lessons to get even better. I already knew the basics when I began lessons. I taught myself mostly, but I knew I needed a pro to teach me in order to grow and to play better. My instructor, Bruce, has already taught me so much in the past several months, and I’m looking forward to see where the next several will take me!
My friends at Guitar Craft Academy are awesome. Guitars are already beautiful instruments as it is, but seeing all the work and love that gets put into make one is pretty mind-blowing. I recently visited with the staff, and they showed me how to paint, craft, design a guitar. The program is perfect if you’re considering becoming a Guitar Tech or want to make your own. Or even if you just really LOVE guitars! It’s a such a cool program, and I’m stoked to be a part of it!
BUT! Even though they’re known for the maintenance, repair, and design of acoustic and electric guitars… if you design the guitar of your dreams… you gotta learn how to play it!! If you want to take lessons just like I am, visit them at 5000 Harding Place or online at Nashville.mi.edu!
