Every musician has had that dream. You know, the one where they go to see their favorite band and one of the guys can’t play for some reason, so the singer brings you on-stage to rock out! You’re really hoping for that Back to the Future moment where the guitar player cuts his hand and you finally get the chance to show your chops.
Well, 22-year-old Joey McClennan got that chance when he went to go see the Foo Fighters in Brisbane. In the middle of the show, Dave noticed a sign that Joey had made and called him up to play guitar on “Monkey Wrench.”
As a pretty big Foo Fighters fan and guitar player myself, I probably wouldn’t have even been able to stand on stage next to those guys! But Joey was not only able to get through an entire song with his heroes, he pulled off that signature riff and held his own!
He may have even stolen the show, with Dave throwing in a “Get off my stage!” at the end.
Now I know this isn’t the first time that a band has pulled up a fan, but with 40,000 fans screaming for his solo, you know this guy’s life just got made, and that’s pretty darn cool.
