This is making me cringe at today’s society.
This photo of model Nina Agdal is pretty hot. She’s looking confident, fierce, and I would probably think “damn I wish I looked like that” if I saw this photo in a magazine I was flipping through (Hey, I’m guilty of it sometimes!)
But the magazine she posed for, Venice, didn’t think the same. As a matter of fact, she was publicly shamed that she “did not fit” the market for this magazine, explaining, and I quote, “We would love to revisit the possibility of a printed cover when she is back in top shape.”
Which is a more polite way of saying she needs to be even thinner in order to be considered? Really?!
Obviously there was outrage when it was made public on social media. The magazine apologized, and Nina couldn’t accept the apology for the way she looked -which I think is flawless!
In a recent interview, she explained,
“I can’t take this anymore. I got to stand up for all the girls and women out there because enough is enough. I can’t be a part of this big lie.”
