When Disturbed released their 2015 Immortalized, it marked a major comeback for the band, in no small part thanks to their haunting rendition of the Simon and Garfunkel classic “The Sound of Silence,” which Paul Simon himself actually gave the band praise for after seeing them perform it live on Conan.
But how can we make the song even more memorable? You gotta put it in space!
NASA put together a compilation video of recordings from various recent expeditions, and they chose Disturbed’s “Sound of Silence” as the soundtrack. In the stunning video below, you can get a rare look at our planet and the impact of mankind on the face of the Earth, all the while being put into a trance by David Draiman and Disturbed.
