It’s been 12 years since TheFutureEmbrace, the last solo record released by renowned Smashing Pumpkins front-man Billy Corgan. In the years since, he’s toured with a revolving door of musicians as the Smashing Pumpkins, with it unclear as to whether or not the original lineup will ever get back together.
Never to fear though, because in the meantime Corgan has given us a new solo album named Ogilala, which was released on Friday the 13th under his full name William Patrick Corgan. To promote the album, which includes Bowie tribute tracks and even a compilation with former bandmate James Iha, Corgan performed one of his new tracks named “Aeronaut” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Friday night. The performance, which included Corgan by himself on a piano with strings later accompanying him, shows just how much his sound has evolved over the years.
You can watch the video below, and, don’t forget, Dagwood’s giving away tickets next week for when Corgan stops by Nashville on October 27th!
