Looks like the Live Music Capital of the World wants to live up to its name juuuuuust a little bit more.
Some Austinites want one road, which is now named Robert E. Lee Road, to be changed to Robert Plant Rd, and it’s obviously for political reasons. Go figure.
A group in Austin named ‘Keep Austin Weird Not Racist’ came forward with the suggestion to remove “racist” statues, memorials, and monuments, and now to change the name of this road to honor the lead of Led Zeppelin. Also arguing that “he onced lived here.”
If you’re shaking your head, it’s not as bad as what’s happening in Louisiana, where these people want a historic statue replaced by a statue of Britney Spears. If you think I’m kidding, click here.
