Foo Fighters just announced that their ninth studio album, “Concrete and Gold,” is ready to rock and will arrive Sept. 15. The guys will hit the road this fall in support of the new album this fall.
“I wanted it to be the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever,” Grohl said in a statement. “To make a gigantic rock record but with Greg Kurstin’s sense of melody and arrangement… Motorhead’s version of ‘Sgt. Pepper’…or something like that.” Greg Kurstin – who has worked with Adele, Beck and more – produced “Concrete and Gold.”
In more news, Foo Fighters will host their own music festival, the Cal Jam 17, this fall.
The fest – set for Oct. 7 in San Bernardino, California – will bring performances from Foo Fighters as well as Queens of the Stone Age, Cage the Elephant, Royal Blood, Liam Gallagher, the Struts and more.
If you don’t live by San Bernardino, the band has also announced a lengthy headlining tour behind the new album. The trek will set off with the opening concert at The Anthem, a new music venue opening in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 12th, and run all the way through a Dec. 12th gig in Salt Lake City, Utah. You can catch the Foos here in Nashville when they hit Bridgestone Arena October 23rd.
