It seems like now matter where you look these days, you will come across a heartwarming tribute to to the late great Chris Cornell. And rightfully so; it’s impossible to name a more driving force in the progression and innovation of rock music in his generation, and he will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
But, in the midst of tributes and “In Loving Memory”‘s, it’s easy to forget that Chris Cornell had a lighter side to him as well. Especially amidst all of the talk about how depression and anxiety may have led to his untimely passing, it’s hard to remember any of his lighter moments.
For instance, do you remember the Soundgarden segway gang? In a music video (directed by none other than Dave Grohl) for the band’s song “By Crooked Steps,” all of the members of Soundgarden got a chance to do a not-so-quick getaway on segways. Not only is it an awesome music video, but it’s cool to see Chris Cornell’s sense of humor, and it’s important to remember moments like this in such a dark time.
