I have run multiple (17) Half Marathons. Not bragging,just saying so you know I know how hard it is to do. I have gotten blisters, cramped muscles, chaffing and suffered from dehydration twice resulting in violent puking fits. With all that said….I hate this guy! Emmet Farnan took the concept of the beer mile, where a runner drinks a beer for every lap on a 400-meter track for a mile, and applied it to the half marathon. Farnan, a former high school runner from Long Island, purchased the bib off a fellow student just days before the race and then decided to recruit his friends to help him drink his way through the half marathon. He not only finished a half marathon in under two hours( 1:43:42), he did it while shotgunning a beer each mile. That’s a 12 pack in an hour and a half WHILE running a 7:40 mile pace! That’s insane!
