“So what’s your favorite part about touring?”
If I could guess, most bands would answer either “visiting different cities,” or “playing in front of millions of fans,” or “doing what we love for a living.” (Or maybe I’m totally off. I don’t know. I don’t know anything.) But, nope. For Highly Suspect, their answer is “naked parties.”
Johnny Stevens told Rolling Stone:
“We have naked parties, and I feel like no one would want to have naked parties with us if we weren’t successful. That’s a mind-blower.”
In between talking about partying in their birthday suits, they also talked about meeting their heroes while on tour. Drummer Ryan Meyer said:
“We were playing Aftershock Fest in Sacramento and Josh Homme walked in on his cell phone and it was like the air stopped.”
Also, when they got to meet Scott Weiland while opening for Stone Temple Pilots:
“I’ll just put it this way, none of us were surprised (when he died),” Stevens says. “I had a couple interactions with him and they were very distant. Like you feel like you’re talking to someone who’s not really there.”
