We’ve all done it. Dropped a morsel of food on the floor, and then picked it up real quick and popped it on our mouths. It’s the five second rule. Right? Before you put something in your mouth that you dropped on the floor; STOP! Researchers at Rutgers University have debunked that rule. Researchers say foods can be contaminated immediately. They tested dropping various foods on various surfaces and found some foods can be instantly contaminated. Sticky and moist foods were fastest to be contaminated since they were quicker to absorb bacteria.
