It sounds like I’m talking about some biblical times here… but it actually happened this week…
What happens when Mother Nature and religion collide? This…
The ritual Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast Of Sacrifice, is observed to commemorate the biblical story of when God appeared to Abraham and asked him to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience. To do this, a cow, goat, or sheep is sacrificed and the meat is shared with family and the poor. Heavy rains and poor drainage lead to areas being overflowed with water and blood from these sacrifices, which were taking place in the streets.
You can read more about the ritual HERE.
