After years, of hearing that Metallica was working on a new album, the guys finally have an idea of when the new tunes might drop. Drummer Lars Ulrich tells Billboard that Metallica’s new collection will likely drop this year. The album will mark the band’s follow-up to 2008’s “Death Magnetic.”
“I think it’s going to get wrapped up soon,” Ulrich said. “Unless something radical happens it would be difficult for me to believe that it won’t come out in 2016.”
He added, “It’s definitely coming along. Nearing completion. Should be done soon…hopefully.”
Ulrich isn’t the first to suggest Metallica’s new album will see the light of day in 2016. Metallica’s co-manager Peter Mensch just recently told Billboard that the band’s upcoming release will arrive”probably later in the year.”
