Recently, a brewery in Jerusalem produced a craft beer with a taste that dates back to the time of Jesus. To accomplish this, they used a wheat strain that geneticists say was used to produce beer over 2000 years ago.
“There’s a hint of honey and berries in the cloudy – and flat – nectar, which has a three percent alcohol content.”
Flat beer? No wonder they drank wine… One of the brewers even said, “It’s really not the kind of flavour that has a market.” I’m guessing that’s a polite way of saying it doesn’t taste very good.
If you’re thinking it would be cool to at least try it though… too bad. They pretty much drank it all.
