So you may have seen some of the stories as of late referring to what people are calling the “Viagra Bill.” This is legislation that has been brought up in a few different states, including Tennessee, that would put restrictions and requirements on obtaining medications for erectile dysfunction. What are some of the requirements from these different bills?
- Require men to undergo a cardiac stress test
- Provide confirmation from a sexual partner that the treatment is needed
- Require a 48-hour waiting period before a patient receives any treatment
The list goes on…
In Kentucky, the legislation also includes the requirement of a note from a spouse, in addition to a sworn statement on a Bible that the treatment would be used within the bounds of marriage.
Now truth be told, a lot of this is purely political. One reason this bill is even being brought up, is because of the scrap going on between Democrats and Republicans over the abortion issue.
Our tax dollars hard at work here… because I’m sure there are no other bigger issues our government could be addressing than what it takes for a man to be able to get it up.
