Well, it’s pretty much true when they say there is a study or survey for everything… now comes the study on “Resting Bitch Face (RBF).”
A couple of researchers got together and decided to study and investigate the phenomenon. Why are some people’s faces seen as expressionless, but others are off-putting? What, exactly, makes us see a seemingly neutral expression as the “B-Face”?
One of the researchers, Abbe Macbeth said, “We wanted this to be fun and kind of tongue-in-cheek, but also to have legitimate scientific data backing it up,” according to the Washington Post.
Along with some facial recognition software and some actual science, there were able to come up with some conclusions. One of the main reasons for RBF… contempt.
I’m not sure if that makes me feel better or not… I was happier just thinking whenever I came across someone with RBF, that they were just unhappy or having a bad day. Now, it makes me think maybe they are judging me… silently.
Oh guys, don’t think RBF is just for the girls either… we can have it too.
