A man who survived 438 days lost at sea is being sued by the family of his dead shipmate over allegations he ate the man to survive. According to Fox News Latino, the family of the deceased is suing for $1 million dollars.
The man who survived, Jose Salvador Alvarenga, is now the world’s longest surviving castaway. He denies the claim made by the family of deceased, saying he survived on raw fish, turtle’s blood, and his own urine.
Alvaregna told the Daily Mail, “Not for one second did I think of eating Ezequiel (the other survivor)… I wouldn’t have done it, even if it meant that I starved. It would have been on my conscience forever.”
