The new Breakfast of Champions…so next time I tell you I had a “pop tart” for breakfast, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
There’s a place called 21st Amendment Brewery out of San Francisco that doesn’t mess around with flavors of beer. Their latest work of art is a toaster pastry-flavored India Red Ale, called what else but “Toaster Pastry.” The brewers told SFGate, “Biscuit malts give the beer a slightly nutty, crustlike flavor, while pale and dark crystal malts create the mouthfeel and flavors reminiscent of strawberry jam.” Shut up and take my money.
I typically go for a heavy, chocolaty stout when I’m at the bar, but their beer flavors are blowing my mind a bit. I would’ve never thought there would be such thing as a Toaster Pastry beer. Or how about a Wheaties-inspired brew, or the Hell or High Watermelon!
Not only that, but there’s gonna be a Count Chocula-flavored beer too!?! Read the article. Grubstreet has it for you here.
