Soundgarden fans. You’re in luck!
In a recent interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Kim Thayil spilled and made it official that the band will hit the studio “in the next few months” to record a new album for a 2016 release.
He says, “No studio has been chosen and no songs are written yet. When we finish these shows in Australia we’ll spend a month or more working on it. It’s definitely going to happen.”
Sounds like they’re gonna have to agree to disagree on some of Chris Cornell’s songwriting too. Thayil said, “Chris is very prolific but not all his material is Soundgarden-worthy. His songs don’t always strike us as something we like for the band.”
